The weird thing about demo reels is that they really show your progression…some of these clips are 20 years old! When my acting career began, I had brown hair…then salt & pepper…now salt is the predominant color.  Of course being an actor means that you can make your hair any color you want if the need arises. But I kind of figure that I earned these gray hairs, so that’s how it’s going to be.

Speaking of hair…Last year I grew a beard when I auditioned for “Palo Alto.” I didn’t land the gig, but I liked the beard. My wife hated it…but she was traveling, so I figured, “what the hell…”

When she came home from her trip, I began to shave. Halfway through shaving, I realized that the Most Interesting Man In The World needed a brother…a brother with “issues.”  I began regrowing the beard the next day.  By winter’s end, my Iranian hairstylist was calling me the Ayatollah. (Oh, and I’m growing the beard again…and I love my long-suffering wife very much!)
